As told by Mrs. Aguti Martha of Opiai ‘B’ village, Acetgwen Parish, Soroti district ; ‘
’I started this diary farm a year ago after realizing that there was high demand for milk in various Restaurants in Soroti Municipality. my biggest problem was lack of enough capital to help me run my business; but after hearing from some of my friends that there is financial institution called LANTERNS MICROFINANCE LTD that lend money in form of loan to rural poor and business communities in eastern region and they are based in Soroti municipality, I took my time to visit them at their office located at Pamba Cell Harriet house opposite Soroti municipal secondary school. I managed to meet with the loan officer who explained to me the terms and conditions, requirements, the lending procedures and terms of payment. Of which I found that it was pocket friendly. I then acquired Individual Agri-business loan from them. Now, I am able to supply 20 liters every day to the nearby Restaurants where I get a daily income of UGX 24,000 and a monthly income of UGX 720,000. During public holidays like Independence Day which is coming soon, am expecting to have high income out of which I will be able to meet my basic needs and to the entire family as a whole.
